Church on 10/11

Okay so we went to church today instead of on Sunday morning and since our regular priest was on vacation we had a guest. He had a really long homily but I really liked it. He started out talking about being invited to a wedding or some other special event and how if you reply and say that you are going to go but never show up it is looked down upon. He said that even back in the middle ages this was definately something you would not do. He compared this to our relationship with God. I never thought about it this way before, It is not enough to tell God that you love Him or that you accept him but you have to keep an ongoing relationship with him. He went on to say that it is kind of like marriage, after you say "I Do" it isn't over there is alot of hard work along the way. If we do not keep up this relationship it will atrophy and die, just like a muscle. There was lot more to it but that is just a summary. I am really cold now and I still don't feel good so I think I'm going to head off to bed. ~Peace
